To join MyCatholicVoice:

• From the Home Page of MyCatholicVoice, click JOIN NOW located on the navigation bar or the SIGN UP NOW button.
• On the right side of the screen, under "Not a member?", enter the appropriate information in the fields provided.
• Read the Terms of Use and check the box indicating you have read and agree with them.
• Click the CONTINUE button.
• You will receive a message asking you to check the email address that you provided while registering.
• Open the email message from MyCatholicVoice. Click on the link contained in that email to confirm your request to join MyCatholicVoice.
• You will then be asked some optional questions. While you are not required to answer them to join, the information you provide here will help us tailor the site to your needs and preferences.
  • If you wish to filter media that may contain profanity, click the check box next to Enable profanity filter.
  • If you wish to rate yourself on your relationship to Catholicism, click the check box next to Enable enhanced rating.
  • If you are clergy and wish to identify yourself as such, click the check box next to Identify me as clergy.
• Click the Continue button. You will receive a message that says your preferences have been saved, with a clickable link to go to your MyCatholicVoice home page. Join now.

You can find media four different ways:

• Use the Quick Search function, located in the upper left corner of all pages. Enter a key word, phrase, title, name, etc. in the Search box and click the Find button. Then click the Search button. The Quick Search function looks at the Tags (descriptors) associated with each media, or item, as well as the Title, Description and Artist fields.
• Click EXPLORE on the navigation bar to access the complete catalog of media.
• From the HOME page (click My Stuff on the navigation bar), you can access your Favorites, items that you have uploaded, and items that you have purchased by looking in the appropriate window pane.
• Scroll through the media in the FEATURED window pane on the HOME page.

On the Search Results page there are a number of filters you can use to simplify your search - Media Types, Time or Date (when was the media submitted), Rating, Title, Views, and For Purchase content.

If, after viewing or listening to something to which you would like to return later, you can save it to your Favorites list. To do this, click on Save to Favorites under the media player. You can find your favorites on your My Stuff page.

If you recently uploaded the media you are trying to find and it has never been posted, it was either not successfully uploaded OR it has not been approved by our staff. Until it is approved it will not available for public view.

If your media has been posted previously and it does not show up now, please Contact Us and let us know. We will gladly look into it.

Previews are provided for media you can purchase. A preview will give you a sample of the media to help you determine if you would like to purchase that particular item. It is your way to “test drive” an item before you buy it.

You can create your own list of material which you enjoy and would like a quick and easy way to find again.

To add material to your Favorites list, click on the media you wish to mark as a Favorite and click Save to Favorites, located below the media player.

To access your Favorites list, go to the My Stuff page. In the FAVORITES window pane, you will see up to four items. To access all of your Favorites, click Show all. A new window will open showing the first page of your Favorites. To help you navigate your list of Favorites quickly, you may sort the list by:

• Media type: Video, Music, Document, Photo, or Spoken Word;
• Once you select the media type, you can further sort by:
• Newest (date the item was uploaded by the submitter);
• Title (alphabetical);
• Rating (highest rating first)
• Views (number of times an item has been viewed or heard - highest number first)

Tags are descriptive identifiers which describe the general content of the media. Tags are used in the Quick Search function to find media. You may enter more than one tag, separated by spaces, when you are uploading material. For example, you might enter the following tags for an audio recording of Father John Smith delivering his sermon on Easter 2006: Easter 2006 sermon Father John Smith.

If you forget your email address or your password, go to the MyCatholicVoice sign in screen by clicking on the SIGN UP NOW button or JOIN NOW at the top and click on either of the links, Forgot Username or Forgot Password. Enter the appropriate information and click the Send Username or Send Password button. An email containing your Username and Password will be sent to the email address you entered in your profile.

To share media with a friend:

• Click on the title of the media you want to share to activate it in the media player.
• Click Send to Friend, located under the media player.
• Enter your friend's email address, your email address and any message you want to send to your friend. Then click the Submit button.
• Your friend will receive an email, which contains a link to the media and your message.
