Description: A colorful sea of umbrellas covered St. Peters Square as pilgrims gathered under the pelting rain to listen to the pope recite the Angelus prayer.
This week two children from the religious movement Catholic Action of Rome, accompanied the pope from his window while he reflected on St. Pauls Hymn of Charity.
Benedict XVI
Charity is the greatest gift, which gives value to all the others.
Pope Benedict XVI said charity is what distinguishes a Christian and added that love is the essence of God himself and the light that gives goodness and beauty of every human existence.
Benedict XVI
At the same time love is, so to say, the style of God and of believers, it is the behaviour of those who, responding to the love of God, order their lives as a gift of self to God and to neighbor.
On the second annual Day of Prayer and Peace for the Holy Land Pope Benedict XVI said he was spiritually united in prayer with Christians all around the globe and released two doves as a symbol of peace and hope to the world, but it took some extra effort.

He also recognized World Day of Leprosy by greeting advocates for leprosy victims and praying for those who suffer from the disease.
