Mike has a great way of bringing the early church alive for us and it was a great joy for me to speak with him. It was the early Church Fathers that kept/made me Catholic. I was on my way to a protestant church when I discovered some fantastic Early Christian Writings. I began to read these documents and was astonished to find just how Catholic the early Church was. My wife bought me, as a Christmas gift, two of the 4 volumes of Faith of the Early Fathers, by William A. Jurgens. It is truly fantastic reading.
