| 9531 | 8NSxQP | The Catholic Hack! Episode No 16 - Jehovah Witness No. 1 | Welcome Back to The Catholic Hack! Its been almost four weeks since my last podcast and boy am I glad to be back at it. I sat down with fellow armature Catholic Apologist Rob Gasper the other night to record a series on the Jehovah Witness and what we need to do to prepare ourselves for the eventual knock at the door. This is the first installment. I will be uploading the others over the weekend and into next week. Rob is very knowledgeable in this area and I think we could all benefit from his experience. The Jehovah Witness street evangelizers are very good at what they do as they practice their apologetics twice a week. Often times good Catholics are caught off guard and are not ready for what they will be told at the door. Lets gear up and prepare ourselves to give a defense for the hope that lies within. There are more great podcasts coming for The Catholic Hack! Look for the interview with Mark Houck of the Kings Men Apostolate next week as well as an interview with John Martignoni, of EWTN, in November. Please give me a review on iTunes and tell at least one friend this week about The Catholic Hack! podcast. Episode No 25 - Vain Repetition | Welcome Back! Today, I wanted to share with you a great conversation I had with Apologist, and Radio show host, John Martignoni. The problem with that is the conversation was cut off, after an hour and a half, and the file was lost... never to be heard again. This is what you get when you deal with a Hack like me. I do, however, have a 7 minute fragment from the \"Lost interview with John Martignoni\" that I will share with you today. The Audio quality is not so good but I think it will serve as a teaser for the \"mulligan\" interview I will conduct in December. Today, we also discuss Matthew 6:7 and weather or not Catholics are in violation of Jesus\' words about \"Vain Repetition\" when we pray the Rosary (for example). Have a listen and send me your feedback. Also, the first one to send me some feedback on the \"homework\" assignment will get a free Catholic Hack! T-Shirt. Listen to the podcast for more details. I pray that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Episode No 4 Infant Baptism | Habemus Pravulus! - We Have a Baby! Welcome Back to the 4th Episode of the Catholic Hack. In this show I wanted to announce the birth of my son, John-Paul, and to take this opportunity to discuss Infant Baptism. I was kind-a rushed for time on this one so please forgive me for blazing through the scripture references and not sounding as polished as I should. There are some good references I want to share with you on this topic: 1. A great site for looking up Greek words in the New Testament is http://wesley.nnu.edu/gnt/ 2. Some Great materials for Infant Baptism are: a. http://www.catholic.com/library/Infant_Baptism.asp b. http://www.catholic.com/library/Early_Teachings_of_Infant_Baptism.asp 3. I also took a lot from the chapter on Baptism form the following book: http://www.amazon.com/This-Faith-Canon-Francis-Ripley/dp/0895556421 4. Here is another very good pamphlet on the subject of Infant Baptism: http://www.pjpiisoe.org/pamphlets/011Baptism-infant-baptism.pdf 5. And of course you can never go wrong with the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.kofc.org/publications/cis/catechism/index.cfm I am also attaching my outline for the show which contains all the referenced versus as well as the Church Fathers that I read from in the show -The_Catholic_Hack-Episode_No_4_Infant_Baptism.pdf - (see also the first comment on this entry). When it comes down to it once we realize that Baptism removes our original sin, enters us into covenant relationship with God and is a free, one way, gift from God its not hard to see how it was intended for everyone with out exception to age. I believe this was the intent from the very beginning. Please continue to pray for my family and may God bless you. Episode No 18 - The King\'s Men | Welcome Back to The Catholic Hack! Today I have a great treat for you... I interviewed Mark Houck, Co-Founder & President of The King\'s Men. Mark, and his partner Damian Wargo, are working hard for the Lord by fighting pornography and building up men to be true men of God. I strongly encourage you to check out their website and plug into this fantastic apostolate. Send Mark your encouragement and let him know your praying for him and his ministry. We need more men to step up to the call of Christ to march on Calvary. Send me your feedback on this podcast and let me know what you think. Episode No 15 - Call no Man Father! | Welcome Back to The Catholic Hack! In Matthew 23:9 Jesus tells us we are to Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven. So what gives... The Catholic Church calls its Priests Father... isnt that against the very words of Jesus? The short answer is no... lets dive deep and get to the Truth of this challenge. St. Paul, St. Peter, and St. John would all have to be blatantly disobeying Jesus IF (and thats a big if) Jesus truly indented to NOT allow us to call any man by the title of \"Father\" no matter what. The key here is context... we need to understand the context of Matthew 23:9 if we are going to understand how the Catholic Church uses the title Father for its Priests. Please send me your feedback.
