Episode No 19 - Jehovah Witness No. 3 | Joe McClane | joemcclane | 2008-08-27 | http://www.mycatholicvoice.com/images/icons/default_profile.jpg | Welcome Back to The Catholic Hack! This is part 3 in our 4 part series on the Jehovah Witness with our friend Rob Gasper. So far we have talked about where the Jehovah Witness came from, their rocky history, their prophecies, their beliefs and theology, and what to expect when the door bell rings. We are now going to start to dig into how, and what, we are to do when we encounter a Jehovah Witness. There are 3 roads to choose from and Rob and I are going to talk about this. There is a lot of great information still to cover so stay tuned. Please send me your feedback, and leave me a review on iTunes as that will greatly help me to get this podcast out to more people. Thanks for listening

| 9531 | 8NSxQP | The Catholic Hack! Episode No 16 - Jehovah Witness No. 1 | Welcome Back to The Catholic Hack! Its been almost four weeks since my last podcast and boy am I glad to be back at it. I sat down with fellow armature Catholic Apologist Rob Gasper the other night to record a series on the Jehovah Witness and what we need to do to prepare ourselves for the eventual knock at the door. This is the first installment. I will be uploading the others over the weekend and into next week. Rob is very knowledgeable in this area and I think we could all benefit from his experience. The Jehovah Witness street evangelizers are very good at what they do as they practice their apologetics twice a week. Often times good Catholics are caught off guard and are not ready for what they will be told at the door. Lets gear up and prepare ourselves to give a defense for the hope that lies within. There are more great podcasts coming for The Catholic Hack! Look for the interview with Mark Houck of the Kings Men Apostolate next week as well as an interview with John Martignoni, of EWTN, in November. Please give me a review on iTunes and tell at least one friend this week about The Catholic Hack! podcast. Episode No 20 - Jehovah Witness of No. 4 | Welcome Back! This is the 4th and final podcast, in this series dealing with the Jehovah Witness. Today I shared with you a piece of negative feedback however; I have also received lots of positive feedback. Thank you all for taking the time to send in the emails, comments, tweets etc. I sincerely appreciate that. Thank you, to those that have left an iTunes review for me (kevin, Tom, Ted, Rob, Grwnginfaith) just recently. Thank you! I have posted a really good article, that I received from Tim Staples, on Gods Names so please check it out. Do me a favor and reach out to Rob and let him know that his time was well spent on The Catholic Hack! podcast. We need to remember to reach out in love and charity to our JW brothers and sisters but, never forget that they are simply misled and misguided. We should study our faith as much as they do
we should spend as much time evangelizing as they do. So there are a lot of things we can learn from the JWs but
we must witness to the JWs because they are lacking the Truth of the Gospel. God Bless Joe M The Catholic Hack! | | apologetics | joemcclane | 60 | | 0 | Joe McClane | 6 | http://ll.mycatholicvoice.com/f/8/20033_thumb.jpg | 2008-08-27 12:07:45.874078 | 0 |

Episode No 3 - Confession! | Welcome back to the Catholic Hack! In this episode I hope to show you that God, from the very beginning, desired to give us the model of Confession that the Catholic Church now celebrates. CCC: 1423 It is called the sacrament of conversion because it makes sacramentally present Jesus\' call to conversion, the first step in returning to the Father 5 from whom one has strayed by sin. I believe this paragraph, from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, go right to the hear t of what I discuss in the podcast
we who separate ourselves from the Father are rejoined to him through confession of our sins. This is the same story told in St. Lukes Gospel where Jesus tells us the parable of the Prodigal Son. The son separated himself from his father and was restored through his confession. The father, not only received him, in the confession, but then went on to restore him to sonship, to full dignity as a son of the Father. This is the same model found in the third chapter Genesis when the Lord walks in the garden in the cool of the day. We see here how Eve has integrity and Adam does not
and we also see how God, in his love, receives them in confession, and then restores their dignity. Can you see it? Read the story of Cane and Able in the next chapter of Genesis and you will see this model again. A good reference for general biblical references and Early Church Fathers would be: http://www.catholic.com/library/Confession.asp http://www.earlychurchfathers.org/belief.php?id=19&PHPSESSID=c6ff22891de34ca569d58e09e9121de7 Make sure you read Leviticus Ch 4 & 5 as well to get an idea on the Old Testament Sin offering and how that compares to our Sacrament of Reconciliation. http://www.usccb.org/nab/bible/#leviticus Well I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I did. God bless you and please pray for my wife and soon to be born son John-Paul. Episode No 12 - Evolution? | Call the FeedBack line: 206-888-1732 Welcome back to the Catholic Hack! This episode is a round table discussion, with Kevin, Ira, and Art, from the mens prayer group of St. Anthony of Padua parish in The Woodlands TX, on the topic of Evolution. As Ira points out, so clearly, we need to be careful not to fall for the lie of either science or faith. There is truth in nature and truth in our faith.... Truth is a person... its Jesus Christ and Truth can not contradict itself. Therefore, we need to dive deep and discover Truth. We have nothing to fear from science, in fact, I have no doubt, that science can show that life is anything but arbitrary. Science has already discovered that the cell is vastly more complex and intelligent they they had ever imagined. This is a witness to the glory of God. Please check out the article links and show notes above because I have some really great material for your reading pleasure. Please also search the Catholic Answers podcast (calender) archive for previous shows on Evolution. There is one from July and a couple from a few months back that were fantastic. Dr. Berlinski (\"On the Origins of Life\" - Link above) did an hour on Catholic Answers and I highly recommend it... its worth searching for. http://www.catholic.com/radio/calendar.php The bottom line? We need to question what we are being told about Darwinian evolution.... To many evils are being perpetrated and backed up by the excuse that we simply evolved by arbitrary chance. Not so! There is consequence to action and we can not allow ourselves a get out of jail free card on our sin nature. If science can show life originated with/from an intelligent design.... with a purpose... and not arbitrary... then there must be an objective morality... a right and wrong... and therefore there is consequence to action. People simply do not want to accept that they have to account for the choices they have made. So the argument is not about science at all... we have nothing to fear from good science... its about the two great lies.
