Inspiring Catholic liturgist J-Glenn Murray, SJ, explores what it means to be "sent forth" as Christians into our communities and into the world. In this video, J-Glenn Murray takes on critics who challenge that the Mass has little to do with daily life and shows viewers the dynamic celebration that is our Catholic liturgy. In his characteristically charismatic style, Murray reveals how our "full, conscious, active participation" in liturgy and parish life helps us to recognize our unique gifts and talents, and leads us to fulfill our Baptismal call to do God's work here on earth---each in our way. Designed for use with teens or adults, a free Study & Discussion Guide is available from the Loyola Press website (see below). (Part 2 of a 2-part video series produced by Loyola Press, in association with Loyola Productions, Inc.) RT: 27 min.

167H9XfnjIgnatius Loyola: The Story of the Pilgrim

From Spanish soldier to soldier for Christ, from vain courtier to humble priest, from self-serving thrill-seeker to educator serving others, St. Ignatius of Loyola stands as a tremendous example of a life transformed by God's love. The saint's story presented here in a one-man dramatization by I. Michael Bellafiore, SJ, is a fascinating pilgrimage to God and illustrates what can happen when we allow God's grace to be at work in our lives. In three 30-minute segments, this play depicts Ignatius' youthful days of misconduct, his spiritual awakening during a lengthy convalescence, his growth experiences at Manresa, the gathering of companions in Paris, and his ministry in Rome. It also portrays how Ignatius founded the world's largest male religious order, the Jesuits, and formed the West's first schools principally for the education of the lay. The video's overarching message is that God cares for each of us personally and intimately, and that experiencing this love makes all the difference in one's life.  Ages junior high and up.  (Produced by Loyola Press, in association with Loyola Productions, Inc.; see website below for a free Study & Discussion Guide.) 158ImcAvdChoosing Christ in the World--Part 4: The Second Week, 2 ("Called Forth in Love," cont.)

Renowned Ignatian scholar and expert, Fr. Joseph Tetlow, SJ, shares insights and approaches for making the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. This audio, Called Forth in Love, focuses on the second of the four weeks of the Spiritual Exercises.  St. Ignatius separated the Spiritual Exercises into four "weeks," although each section may actually take more or less than seven days. This audio series also acts as a companion to Fr. Tetlow's long-selling guidebook to directing the Exercises according to St. Ignatius' 18th and 19th annotations for use in daily life---Choosing Christ in the World. (Part 3 of a 6-part audio series; due to length, Called Forth in Love is separated into two audio tracks; this is the first.  Run Time: 56 min. 37 sec. Produced by Loyola Press.)
