NCYC Video Contest

Welcome to the MyCatholicVoice NCYC2009 Video Contest! Help pilgrims that will be attending the conference in Kansas City and those that will be participating virtually have a more fulfilling experience.

Your entries should be 30-second to three-minute videos on one of three contest themes and how they tie into the Church's ministries of evangelization, community, prayer and catechesis.

Entries will be accepted through November 8th and voting will conclude on November 12th. You can vote for each entry once a day so check back daily.

Christ Reigns

Theme 1: Christ Reigns

The theme for this year's conference is Christ Reigns. Using the lyrics from the theme song as your basis explain in word or song how you can tell your friends about how Christ reigns in your life. (Evangelization)

Using the song Christ Reigns by Joia Farmer as your background, create a video that will helps other teens put Christ first in their lives. (Catechesis)

We all wanted to be accepted. Part of our Catholic faith is making others feel welcome and loved. Give your testimony of how Christ reigns in your life and how it has made you more accepting of others. (Community)

Prayer Forms

Theme 2: Prayer Forms

Must you be in Church to pray? How many of your friends do not have a relationship with Christ? Create a video explaining your favorite type of prayer to your friends and how it helps your relationship with God. (Catechesis)

As a Church we gather together at Mass to celebrate the Eucharist. Explain, in word or song, the part of Mass that touches your heart the most and makes you feel a part of the larger Catholic Church. (Community)

St. Augustine is quoted as having said that 'Singing is praying twice'. Perform or tell us your favorite song that you can use to share your faith with others. (Prayer)

When you listen or sing a hymn at Mass do you reflect on the words? Tell us which hymn has taught you the most about the Catholic faith and why. (Evangelization)

When you're thirsty, do you have to walk more than a few feet to get safe drinking water? Over 1 billion people in the world do not have access to clean, safe water. As Catholics, explain how we can help our struggling brothers and sisters. (Community)
