Have you ever considered a call to the priesthood? We talk about vocations in the latest episode if the show. Nick talks about his own journey to understanding God’s call in his life and talks about his own experiences in a Benedictine monastery.

Along with talking about vocations, there was a lot of news this week, from art to the Vatican, we found out about a new flash tour of the Sistine Chapel and the Pope blessing an image of Mary to help Chile.
For feedback this week, we have a call from Tim, who shares his Lenten story and struggles. Much like Pat, he’s trying to eat at home during Lent, but had a moment this past week when he ended up eating out.

Have you heard about the new evangelization? Recently, Pat gave a talk in Tulsa, Oklahoma about the new evangelization and its impact on new media. In this episode, he talks about some of the research he found. Did you know that there are 1.2 billion Catholics in the world? Listen to this episode to hear more about that statistic and others.
As our Catholic Challenge this week, we encourage you to listen to a fantastic homily given by Fr. Cantalamessa, the preacher to the papal household. He gave a fantastic talk and reflection on the year for priests.
We finish out the show with some interesting news about a torch that Pope Benedict blessed for the anniversary of St. Benedict. Finally, we play some great feedback for our show and a new song that was written for the Catholic Vitamins podcast.

To start off the show, we go through the three J’s for Ash Wednesday and talk about a new what’s my line on the show. We’ve got a good one this week for the season of Lent. How would you work in the phrase, “Fist pumping like champs?” We’ve got a few ideas.

In our help I’m fallen segment, we talk about a few of the things we are doing for Lent and play some feedback from our listeners. If you are looking for ideas on what you can do to prepare for Easter, we’ve got some good ones on the show.
To finish out the show, we go through the feedback we received about the Liturgy of the Hours. It’s amazing the different ways people spend their time in prayer. There are too many to count! If you missed that show, check out episode 37. You can grab it from our website or in the iTunes podcast area.

This week’s episode is a special simulcast between In Between Sundays and Busted Halo. We were lucky enough to get some time to record a dual episode with Brittany and Fr. Dave. As part of the show, we answer a question of faith involving receiving the Eucharist more than once a day.

If you haven’t heard of Busted Halo before, it is another podcast and online network for young adults. They have a wealth of online resources including a full index of young adult groups around the country. If you are looking for another destination to learn about your faith, Busted Halo is the place to go.
Take a listen to this episode and enjoy. We had a lot of fun talking with Brittany and Fr. Dave. During the show, we decided to quiz them on their knowledge of chick flicks and horror films. See how well they do!

Have you ever wanted to know more about praying the psalms? It turns out that there’s a way to do that – it’s called the Liturgy of the Hours and it is the prayer of the Church. If you have ever wanted to know more about these prayers, listen to Nick’s explanation of them then check out SQPN’s praystation portable.

To kick off our show, we have a good amount of news about sports. This weekend is Super Bowlweekend so we decided to talk a little bit about the New Orleans Saints and some of the ads that will air during the Super Bowl. Finally, Jen in Montana sent us an interesting piece of news about the top prospect of the Athletics deciding to become a priest.
During the show, we talk about how the Liturgy of the Hours is a way of adding a certain rhythm of prayer to your life and how the psalms contain the entire range of human emotions. We highly suggest you take a look at this form of prayer and see if it is something that you are able to fit into your life.

Paul Davis is our featured guest this week. During the show he talks to us about his journey to making better decisions. When he was younger, Paul made a bad decision which affected the rest of his life. Want to hear more? Listen in to our episode to hear the interview.

To start off the show, we have two new lines from Steph in Wisconsin and Jessica, who left a comment on a previous episode.

In our news segment, we talk about a card trick that Paul Camarata sent us. It’s a pretty cool trick. Along with the magic trick, we talk about an article that Lisa Hendey sent us about the Pope embracing new media as a means to evangelization. The Vatican now his its own YouTube channel and recognizes the need to use technology to help people share their faith.
During our interview, Paul Davis tells us about his amazing story from high school to get him to where he is now. His story is filled with a message of hope and reliance on God. If you are looking for something to help you put your own life into perspective, take a listen.

This week, we received a lot of feedback from our listeners. To close out the show, we read some of the feedback we have received and play some audio feedback from Barb in Nebraska. She called in to tell us that she really enjoyed our Mom’s pumpkin bread recipe. Interested in getting a copy of it? Email us and let us know that you donated to SQPN and we’ll send you a copy of the recipe.

It’s pro-life week and in honor of that, we have Mary Kay Culp from Kansans for Life on our show to talk about the pro-life march and what Kansans for Life does. Listen to find out more about this important week.

This week, as part of our news, we have decided to talk about our new favorite iPhone application, Words with Friends. It’s a great game where you can play over the net with other friends, either live or in taking individual turns.

As part of our interview segment, Mary Kay Culp talks with us about the Roe vs. Wade supreme court decision and how it has affected the world. Ever year, on the anniversary of that decision, a group of people march on our nation’s capital in order to show their disagreement with the court’s decision.
Looking ahead, we are in our planning process for our next few months. In that, we are hoping to put together a simulcast with the Busted Halo show. Stay tuned for a that show in the future.
