When I was in High School in the 70’s, my best friend’s mother loved to gift us with her words of wisdom. One of her famous sayings was – “the more things change, the more they stay the same!” That saying rings true for me today as I reflect on the last three decades in catechetical ministry.

Ministry Meets Technology

We see it everywhere. All kinds of people in all kinds of places walk around with internet-accessible devices in hand. We take our technology with us wherever we go and we can be connected with the world at the touch of a single button.

No one could probably have predicted how quickly this trend would develop or how dependent we would become on instant access. In a matter of mere seconds, we can locate our exact position on the face of the earth, find a restaurant within a two mile circle and learn the migratory route of Canadian geese heading south for winter. Take a moment and reflect on the variety of ways you use technology that flood your own world. It’s enough to take your breath away.
